Oil Change Warning Message

My Cayman S is 12 months old this month and has covered 6,000 miles but is telling me that it needs an oil change.

I thought the first oil change was at 2 years. Does anyone now why I am getting this message and/or how I can get rid of it (assuming that it doesn't need an oil change).

Hi My own Cayman R last November said the same thing, when mine was 18 months old. Speaking with my OPC was told that the clock is ticking from when it was checked. This can be much earlier than either either registered or sold. They did say they would reset it for free as mine was originally set from the previous November, but I collected it from new in the following March. Hope this helps Peter
