Officially blonde question....

Just got a new petrol cap as the seal was looking a bit ropey on the old one, and it comes with a modern style retainer lanyard - unlike my old one.

Ok, I am not so thick as I can't change the cap over(!) but just wondering where the lanyard is supposed to attach? And are you supposed to leave the cap dangling when filling up, or am I missing a clip or holder of some sort?

Can't belive I am asking for help on this - an official 996 blonde moment.....! ??

This is where i attached mine, however i think you can also attach it to the hole by the centre of the hinge

On our 2002 C2, there is a hook on the filler flap where you can put the lanyard to hold the filler cap away from the wing while refuelling, don't know if you have that?
