Odd problem with new Window Regulator from Design911

Hi,

I purchased a new window regulator from Design911, specifically OE Match Classic Brand.
It fitted okie, etc 'but' here's the problem - no window drop on opening the door.
Micro-switches checked and working
Motor works and pulls the cable
Window doesn't drop
Goes up and down okie on normal operation (though it won't drop below the window rubber fully, sits about 1/2 cm proud when at lowest setting)

Has anyone else dealt with this brand and had similar, or any tricks/differences from the original that we may have overlooked?

Tried the 'zip tie fix' with no result - which would have been very annoying if it did because that would have meant a stretched cable out of the box

Thinking I might just rebuild the old regulator and return the new one as defective (frayed cable noted on old regulator, which prompted replacement even though it was working fine)

Cheers :)

If the glass doesn't go all the way down, it might be that they have sent you a Boxster regulator. They are the same, but there is a stop on the bottom for the Boxster, which needs to be moved down for the 996.

Excuse the scrappy photo.

Already checked that - it's set to 996 and only sits 0.5 to 1 cm higher that the old one. It's window not dropping but the motors working and pulling on the cable that is the biggest bugbear. Other searches say it's a stretched cable, far too stretched IMHO for new outta the box and the ziptie emergency repair not making any difference. I seriously think the new regulator is simply defective at this point

Cheers for the assist though :)
