Odd 'ball bearing on wood' sound from rear.

Hi, bit of an odd one....

Noticed an odd noise last couple times been out in car: sounds like a metal ball rolling round in the back (imagine a ball bearing rolling around in a wooden bowl is best way I can describe it).

It's not a constant sound, "sometimes" when going round a corner (hence ball theory), or over a bump or braking - again leading to the ball theory - again, sometimes, not every time.

I can't see anything inside the car that would be causing it; and a quick look in the engine compartment didn't reveal anything.

Anyone else had this?
Any ideas welcome.

I'm not anal or anything but its driving me bonkers lol [&:]

Seat belt locking devices utilise a `ball`, maybe it`s dislodged ... try `exercising - engaging` the belt ?
