October Club Night Wednesday 13th

The first club night since taking over as RO and I'm going to miss it due to being in China on holiday, sorry all.[:mad:]

As we discussed last month the aim is to start and draw together a list of things we'd like to do as a region and then plan them into the calender for next year. We've still got a couple of events planned for 2010, the clay pigeon shoot on 31st October and also the Christmas party that is now fully booked, realistically though it will be next year when we our activities will take off though if we get our thinking caps on we can get them included and published in the PCGB activities calender.

On the 13th I've arranged for John Ringrow, who some of you will know from the Institute of Advanced motorists, to come and give a talk with slideshow on becoming a private pilot and flying light aircraft. His talk will start at 8pm so it may be an idea to get there earlier to sort some of the roles and responsibilities out.

I'll liaise with Julie and Neil in advance of that date.

The talk is titled "Flying Light Aircraft".
I cover a few basics of how aeroplanes fly, what's needed to get a PPL and how in a way, the skills needed are similar to advanced driving. I will bring along some of the kit needed too. It will last about one hour.
 
In light of the fact you won't be around Ash and the talk thats planned I would suggest meeting around 730pm to finalise the details for the clay shoot (and collect the outstanding monies!). John Ashcroft still need your cheque please for Xmas and Clays. Dave Urwin for clays please.

Then leaving the discussion of roles and responsibilities until the next meet in November
when you will be there too. I just think it might be a bit much to pack into one night given the amount of discussion and ideas at the last meeting and the planned talk.

Still happy to keep the ball rolling with the porsche post submissions. What do others think?
