Finally got the old Lotus MOTed today. The list of things to fix or repair is ever diminishing now! Wanted to take it for a shakedown tonight but when trying to get my nice free roadtax at the post office, discovered the nuggets at the inusrance company have put on the wrong reg so have to wait for a new policy doc to come through! Bollocks!

Absolutely lovely !
Is that blue 911 behind a resto or a breaker ?
Did you get my message re posting spacers, as i could not make Saturday ?

Hi Jim, 911 for going back on the road. Was using the car and the left hand cam chain tensioner goosed itself . All changed now and ready for the engine to go back in it. Needs a bit of body work but nothing too bad. All suspension been overhauled and ready to go back on, the front is all done and fitted. Spacers all packed up and will go off first class to you tomorrow.

Cheers for that Alasdair,
what are the details of the 911 ? an 3.2 SC i presume, G50 ? what year ?

Jim, it is a 1980 3.0 SC with the sport pack. Big bolster seats, front lip spoiler but no whale tail. This is what I got the 7 and 8 inch Fuchs for. Has a 911 reg as well.

Value ?
What needs doing ? (be honest ;-) )
What colour interior ?
Are you goung to be selling it ?

Mike may be sending the 924 to the local scrappy (after i have raided it) as his missus wants it off the drive if you are interested going in the next week i would guess.

Dropped his 964 Anniversary back on the floor last night after fitting green H & R coilovers and 15/18 mm spacers (Absolute Porsche Porn ) stunning does not evn come close, 28k in Viola Metallic.
A very lucky man as his 944 Turbo SE is about the best you will find also.

Top garage 964 Anniversary-944 Turbo SE (MO 30) and a very clean 924.

No space Jim as I have bought that black S which is coming tomorrow hopefully. Blue Pascha interior that is pretty good. There are a couple of small holes in the inner wings that need patched. I have a wing to change as one is pretty holey. Will give you a ring tomorrow for a chat about it.

Such a pretty car. Why do Lotus think that the new range of larger, heavier cars they're planning will save the company? []

Nice Elan, I've always wanted an Esprit Turbo S3 since I was a kid....one day....and then may tire of fixing it[;)]

Sorry for hijacking the thread Alasdair, give me a call tomorrow !
I will get pics posted of Mike's collection.
The majority of Lotus cars do it for me, love the Exige, the original Elan, the V8 Esprit, and the Evora ?
I have not seen it for a while but there used to be a gold leaf coloured elan knocking about locally, a guy i know has owned from nearly new a JPS Europa, lovely car but not my cuppa !
Forgot to sy Alasdair, Dave has bought a GT40 R in red, what a car !!
It is a squash for me he struggles with it so much the pedal box is getting moved to accomodate his seriously long thigh bones ! it was comical watching him and his missus Dawn getting into it the other weekend [:D]

Good stuff Alasdair, must be great to finally have it finished and (apart from insurance boo-boo) on the road.

And thanks again for your assistance last week.

Was going to discuss SC next time I was up, though I was hoping it would be sitting around a while longer so as to sort finances and the all important permission, but it seems Frenchy has an eye on it- I SAW IT FIRST FRENCHY. lol.

Alan.

Those are stunning little cars Alasdair, and your one there looks stella, enjoy the shakedown once you get the right paperwork!

As everyone else has said, that's a very pretty little car. (The pedant in me says it should be BRG, but it looks lovely none the less!)

Oli.
