Northern Cayman Cars & Coffee Meet

Hi all, R3 imposter here...not sure if any R30 Cayman owners are looking at posts in the Cayman register forum? Jealous of some of the meets at Goodwood etc. that our Southern Cayman driving friends arrange there’s an active thread trying to encourage some semi regular Cayman register meets in the North.

Originally ’the North’ seemed to cover anywhere North of the Watford Gap and a meet Wales was suggested which for me was a WOTY rather then a cars & coffee meet. I’ve suggested that we can consider something bigger in the future but to get something started we start with smaller meets that cover Caymans across neighbouring

I have tabled something central to the regions that PCGB classes as Northern England (R3, R5, R7,R18, R22 & R30) aiming for 1-2hr from a meeting point in each region taking various routes to a central meet. To me a natural point in the centre of those regions would be Hawes > Buttertubs > Tan Hill Inn area.

2 questions...
1) is anyone more familiar with organising drives in the area have any alternate/better suggestions?
2) any Cayman owners in R3, R5, R7,R18, R22 or R30 interested?

I’ll be posting this in the other regions listed above to catch people who may not actively look in the Cayman forum but it would be easier if you comment with any interest in the original post.https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1048460

Hi, I live in R30 (Isle of Man) and am registered with other regions in the North West (North Wales, Lancashire, Cumbria and SW Scotland and Yorkshire), so I receive all the planned meets by email and can attend any if I happen to be over in the UK. I'm also a member of the Boxster register. Any PCGB member can register with their nearest regions to attend their events if they wish, so there is already something in place which partly covers what you're trying to achieve.

I would suggest that if you're only interested in Cayman meets then that is covered already as any Cayman owner in the country interested in meeting others should already be in the Cayman register, so if you want to organise a meet somewhere just post in there and all interested owners should see it. I'm happy going to general Porsche meets as there are a lot more of them than there is of any single model, plus it's good to meet all Porsche owners and see their cars. You should also find online a Cayman owners forum which you could join and go to their events - also Face Book groups and other car Forums with a Cayman section. So plenty of ways to meet others. Good luck.

Hi Gorsh, I think most are pretty happy to attend regional meets with all manner of Porsches represented (disappointed not to have seen a diesel tractor yet!).

There is an effort get the Cayman register a little more active in the North as the success of some of the events organised further South has been noticed.
The point of the post was simply to point anyone in the regions PCGB classes as 'Northern England' who may be interested to that thread on the Register forum page (linked in my original post). Hopefully something will come of it.
