Noisy S2 engine

Hi guys

I have just had my cam chain and belts replaced and the first full service since I bought my S2 Cab last year.

When I picked up my car, my mechanic tells me that eventually I will need a new " complete head" , as the noisy engine is due to damage already done to the head. He stated that he could replace all the followers and still the noise could be there and also that there is wear on the cogs of both cams.

It was mentioned that it would be best to look at a reconditioned head assembly, as a new one would cost me not just an arm and a leg, but both arms and legs!!! Who' d want to drive without any arms and legs!!!

I am selling my personal plate to fund this, but obviously I want to get things sorted out right. Where can I get a reconditioned unit from that would take my existing one in part exchange???

Also, what damage if any would result from just running the engine " as is" ????

Regards

Phil

Hi guys

Having spoken at length with Bert Gear yesterday, I am seeking a second opinion and will keep you all posted as to the outcome.
