newly painted and looking sharp

My car is now back from the body-shop after a lick of new gloss. Which is nice. But I had to drive it back through mud and pouring rain. Which was not so nice. Here are a few shots after a quick hose down.

Not quite so sure about the yellow trim on the inside (!), but the outside looks very good.

Are you not planning to put the 'Porsche' decal along the back? I think that not having it has a certain appeal ...

Oli.

Very nice Ewan. I hope you are better at keeping it clean than me - mine tends to stay a two tone brown and red!

Outside is stunning - inside is unique and reminds me of a mini I had that I 'yellow dialled' many years ago.

Did you have it painted locally?

Tony

Lovely outside, fit the rear "Porsche" decal IMO, not keen n the yellow dash but the seats and mats look great, get some armourfend fitted to protect that lovely new paint.

Now thats looking sharp! Not sure about the yellow painted plastic trim but I like the yellow dials and the yellow piping.

I have purchased a new "Porsche" decal for the back, but still can't decide whether to fit it or not. But I am going to refit the rear "turbo" badge. Also undecided about fitting the "turbo" badge on the front wing. Probably not brave enough for that one, but may give it a go knowing that i can always just peel it off and bin it.

With regards to the yellow, you'll just have to take my word for it when I say it grows on you. It was like that when the previous owner bought it, and he originally planned to return the dash strip to black. But learned to love it. And over the last year the same thing has happened to me. Strange. But then again, my Last Diablo was yellow, as was my last F355 Spider. So maybe I'm biased.

Thanks for the comments.

Looking good. Personally I would leave the porsche script off.I like them clean and un cluttered.

I like the original rear sticker, they just look right and complete and not like the car has been painted and they got left off.The rear Porsche one is difficult to get straight took two goes on my ex racecar.Took two goes to position Turbo badge on rearcome to think of it I looked at a brochure for that! The front Wing sticker is a bit 80s i Don't have one on my 90 but love it on my 89.
I do think fresh white paint looks crisp! Is the yellow dash a period Techart upgrade maybe?

I'm not sure when the dash was done, but there is no mention of it on the original spec sheet. The rest of the interior is original in maritime blue, and the mats were a Christmas present to myself, from Autostyle (from their top range). They are top drawer, and well worth the £60 odd quid.

Chances of getting the stickers back on straight and in the right places first time are slim. But here goes[:)]

Have you thought about PPF (Paint Protection Film) its not cheap but well worth it on a newly painted car, you only really need the front end done.

wow ! looks gorgeous. i really like the co ordinated interior , nicely understated for a change. well done she looks great

Use plenty of water with some washing up liquid or meths added when fitting stickers/emblems you can move them about until you have them in the correct position, then use a sqeudgie (sp) to get the majority of the air bubbles out, any left over will eventually come out on their own accord, i have the turbo wing decal on both of my cars, original fit on the Turbo S, I hapen to like them.

I love the coloured line across the dash, and am going to do the same on mine. Strong colours are always more difficult, Andy Watson's gloss black is stunning, mine in the titanium won't be over-dramatic but will lift the all-black gloom a bit. I really like the yellow, it's a very "Italian" design feature and works well IMO.

I hate coloured dials personally; they always look a bit like "sticky-backed-plastic" to me, and for those who grew up watching Blue Peter in the good-old-days.....[&:]
