The Porsche Panamera will make its public debut at the Shanghai motor show, Porsche has confirmed. The Chinese motor show runs from 20 to 29 April.

The four-door Panamera is due on sale at the end of summer 2009.

It will initially be available with a naturally aspirated or turbocharged V8, coupled to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed twin-clutch PDK transmission.

Launch dates for the lower-powered V6 and frugal hybrid versions have not been announced.

I think this car is squarely aimed at China and Russia.
Obvious place to launch it and may create more loyalty by the Chinese

After 3 weeks in China in most of the major cities, the only Porsche I saw was a Cayenne, in Russia and Malaysia I saw none. I know they do sell, but there's a big market out there when you see the cars they do have, saw 14 Ferrari's in KL.

Got my name in the head already, cannot wait to hear more about how much it is going to set me back (Panamera turbo) or when it is going to be introduced in the Middle East, any rumors?

Cheers,

Mark
