Evening all, picking up some new matt black d90s on monday to fit to my black s2, should over do it nicely. how do I get them fitted, just pop to kwik fit and bung then twenty quid?
Regards

Go on then Andy, where should he take it.....you thinking a good independent tyre company? like I use, who balance properly, don't store rims face down on concrete, don't cross thread wheel nuts, don't air hammer alloy nuts, don't jack vehicles on sill edges, just do the job properly and charge fairly....that kind of thing George 944t

Some KFs are alright, others terrible, it depends on the manager. Whether they fit third party tyres is down to the manager too, with some refusing, some doing it at an inflated price and some doing it for £5 per wheel, fitted with care and balanced. The latter category is the rarest, unsurprisingly.

Good tip steve, I'll try them first, was only joking about the others, I'm not daft am I. My new wheels are all black, but from pics I've seen think they look better with silver rim. Now I can kill two birds with one stone and fit those alloygators in silver, so can anyone recommend or not recommend them? not cheap at 60 notes but if they protect my new wheels and add the finishing visual touch then will consider the investment. Cheers

Most Indys charge around £10 a wheel these days to fit and balance IME. Where are you based? We would be better off making a recommendation that way to you :). I echo Simon's comments regarding KF. On two occasions KF were terrible (how hard can it be to balance the wheels?) Two KF places near me are not too bad however, going from customer's comments and my own experience.

disappointing day yesterday, went to get wheels fitted in my lunch hour, told to wait 10 mins, still waiting 30 mins later so wheels loaded back into car again! As a brucie bonus now got a couple of very small marks on the wheels where you can see the silver underneath. Im not blaming the garage cos I think they handled them with care, I just think the finish is not a proper job, ie just a few coats with a rattle can. So wondering what to do next, reluctant to spend much more cos I'm skint but is there anything I can do to give them some added protection before I eventually get them fitted? Spray with clear laquer? Will that work on matt black? Regards

If they are just matt black then you can just buy a can of matt black from Halfrauds for about a fiver. Matt black is dead easy to match, so just touch them up.

A fiver? Bit more than I was hoping to spend, but it sounds like a good option, will try and save up two weeks pocket money and go without sweets, [:(] Cheers

ORIGINAL: andy watson If I went to Kwickfit I would want paying!
I would go to Kwik Fit without any worries at all. They have better insurance than almost anyone else. So if they damage your wheels they will replace them. If you are nice and not cocky to the guy on the desk when you go in they will treat your wheels with the greatest of respect.People always treat you as you treat them.

Hi Colin, Treat others as you want to be treated, agreed, I was brought up correctly as well but having had several bad experience's at Kwickfit, ok many moons ago, I would never step foot in another one and would never recommend anyone to do so! And I am always nice [:)]

Craig, where in Leeds are you? I am not far from Crossgates. Motorsport Wheels at Seacroft are good and should fit your wheels, see here: http://www.mswuk.com/contact.html

Hi, that's where I went! My fault I suppose for thinking it could be done in my lunch hour, I'll go back when I've got more time. Regards

Sorry, is these 2 fit wheels or tires 2 wheels? Fitting the wheels is at best 15 min job with a floor jack. Shouldn't take much more on a ramp. On a ramp there's no worry off jack damage. Just ask that the nuts are done by hand. Any where would be fine 4 this.
