New toy from Costco

Looked fairly extensively at many scissor and 2 post ramps before choosing the Quickjack system, which does have it's limitations, but has the advantages it is highly portable, provides a clear space underneath the car and can be easily stored vertically against a wall when not in use.
I managed to obtain a 230v main power version, unfortunately not available in UK as far as I can tell. [8|]

Very nice Eldavo - I've had a set of those bookmarked on the Costco website for awhile - just never got around to opening my dusty moth infested wallet to purchase [:D]

By any chance do you have any pictures of where you located the lifting "blocks" under the 944? That was my only concern of buying a set of these as I was unsure how I would lift the 944 as there aren't really any proper front jacking points. The 996 is easy as it has proper lifting points front and rear...

Thanks!

Looked into the same thing quite a bit before pulling the trigger as that was my concern too.

After speaking to other owners in the States I’ve used the front "doughnuts” that we tell everyone not to use as jacking points. I have found, on one occasion, that the throttle pedal got sticky while the car was lifted up which points to the floor bending around that point - but once the car was back on the floor I’ve had no issues. As I said - that was once only though, car is currently in the "up” position with the hoses disconnected and has been for nearly 8 weeks and if you jump in the driver’s seat and press the pedal it’s absolutely fine.

Thanks - yes I guess as you are lifting all four corners at the same rate / time then there is much less stress on that area

First time I’ve seen this! Two questions...

1. Would you trust this on it’s own or do you also put axle stands underneath just in case?

2. Will it work on an uneven driveway or at a slight angle?

Thanks!

Yes - I do trust it more so than axle stands. Although the lift itself is hydraulic, it has physical lockout bars that engage and hold it either half way up or fully up. Once they are engaged you can disconnect the hydraulic lines if you wish (as I have done so they’re not in the way).

The only way to drop the lift is to reconnect the lines, lift it back up a tad to disengage the locks and then by hand flip the locking cams - so it’s not coming down by accident.

I don’t know about using it ok an angle, I guess the website will have the answer or a customer service email to ask what the maximum angle you could use it on is.

I got the hydraulic fluid from Halfords along with a NOCO jump pack to run the lift. I originally got a jump pack from Costco too but it wouldn’t work as it didn’t sense the resistance of a battery to start working. The NOCO one enables you to hold a button for 3 secs to get out of Smart Mode and be constantly live.

Fab, thanks. Do you recall which NOCO jump pack you got? Halfords seem to have a few versions (it'd be good to get the cheapest one that works ??) How many litres of hydraulic fluid does it require too?

Thanks!

I bought the cheapest one they did and that also happens to be the cheapest one that works (from Halfords at least). THink I bought 3 litres of fluid but didn’t use it all.
