Hi all,
Been a member of PCGB a while, normally lurking around the 996 forum.
In my determined quest to own all the least popular cars (allegedly!) in the Porsche range, I am currently on the cusp of 924 turbo ownership - in this case, in kit form, ie engine and body to be mated...
Now I know the engine is from a Mk1 for sure, but the body, although in reasonable shape could well be a MK 2 - date of first registration Jan 1981, and this tends to be borne to my mind out as it appears to be fully galvanized.
Could anybody confirm the last Dates of manufacture of the Mk1 cars please? Is there a chance it could still be a MK1
If it is a Mk2 body, accepting the numbers won't match, can anybody advise how this is likely to affect the value? To be honest, this isn't all about the money, its a long time ambition to do something like this, but I'm more looking to gauge sensibly what I should spend over the term of ownership so as not to leave too big a hole in my pocket if the two mated together are likely to be considered too much of a b*****d in the eyes of potential future buyers.
Any guidance appreciated.
Thanks.
J
