Mike IRL

New member
Hi,

Based in Dublin, just signed up and would like to make contact with other owners from Ireland out there.
Anyone?

My car can be viewed on this thread:

Hi Mike...

Glad to see your car was at the Radisson [;)] Mine was the vesuvious gray 996 C4 at the end of the line of 996's.... Of course I was stuck inside all day with the stupid xboxes [:(]

Yes, Radisson was very well organised show. Only picked my car up the day before :)
Are there many other events coming up or are there informal club meetings throughout the year?

Looks like there are only 2 911 owners in Ireland [:(]

Surely this can't be true or is living in Dublin such a bad thing ?

Dont worry there are more than just the two of you, there is actually three. Nice to hear from the other two, I am from the North and have a 964 which uses a thing called "air" to keep cool yes I know it sounds odd but it really works. I think you two use pink water or something?

And then there were 3...

Ah even with all the weight of the water it's still quick :) I think the air may be what is slowing your down [;)]

Any pictures of your car?
Where are all the other owners hiding?

I saw a yellow 993 turbo or C4s near carryduff about a year ago, a beautiful dark blue 993 c2s near culloden hotel a few months ago. When I was looking to buy one last summer I saw a very nice purply 993 C2S tip and a black 993 C2 with whaletale spoiler. And a very lovely old red carrera (carrera 3.0?) with black carrera script down the side when dropping my car off for service at George's few weeks ago. So definitely a few nice air-cooled cars up north if you keep your eye open.

Also seen a few GT3s and 996/997 Turbos milling around, if kettles float your boat :)

Hi Mike,
One more here just out of the medals in fourth place with a 964 cooled by witchcarft, nice looking 996 hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. Where abouts in Dublin are you?

Kettles, air, doesn't matter to me as I like them all [8D]

@crystal cranks, I'm on the southside of Dublin.

Quite a few Porsches in/or around Dublin.

Where do people source parts around Ireland?
Obviously Belgard and Agnews are two but is there other local suppliers and specialists?

I'm aware of Barry Whelan along Canal and Terry jackson in Dublin but who else?

A word of warning ..... In my opinion, you shouldn't go anywhere near terry jackson. I believe him to be worse than useless and a rip off cowboy to boot. If you were to look up the court records and local papers in his area you'd see the sort of character you'd be dealing with.

The Carrera3.0 might have been me. When i get lonely i call to see George :ROFLMAO:[:'(]

Fancy seeing you here mike [:D]

My 75 2.7 is still undergoing some surgery.
Nothing major, just a load of oil seals to stop oil getting into my ssi's, so I can actually see where I'm going.

So, make that 4, or is it 5 ?

Hi Mike,

Best wishes with your new wheels, I too saw it at the Radisson and it looks great!!

You guys should really set up a 996 register, now that there are two.

I believe all future 993 meets / drives will be open to all - just waiting for confirmation from our leader.

Hope we catch up soon.

Neil

ps. Penfold I think you did a super job keeping those xboxs busy - next year we might let you out!!

If I can be of any help don't hesitate to contact me on 07736809030. Look forward to seeing you at one of our or PCI events. Regards Alan

you should pop down to one of the pci track days during the year ahead to meet up with some other members wether or not you wish to go out on track its a good day out.
