New Porsche Cayman S- Ex member car - Help Needed please!

Hello Everyone

I'm Shan and I am a new owner of a Silver 2006 Porsche Cayman S. Great spec with sat nav, PASM, sport chrono pack, xenons, 19in wheels, multi function steering, Bose sound. Looking forward to enjoying it!

I have purchased the car as a vehicle in need of repair and have fortunately found all the spares i needed so it will be going into the bodyshop over the weekend.

My question to all the members is, that when i purchased the car it came with no service history, but it looked like it had clearly been looked after before its incident. The car also has a Cayman Register sticker on the top of the windscreen which leads me to believe that a member on this forum has once owned this car and i am hoping that i can find out more of its service history please?

Vehicle registration now is: RA06 RYT, but it has previously been on a private registration. I can provide the previous registration if required and/or the VIN number of the car, but it is crucial that i find the cars service history and would deeply appreciate anyones assistance in helping me find it.

P.S. Before you ask, i have contacted Porsche GB but they can only find a couple of records of the car, which i find very odd.
 
That's my old Cayman. It wore the reg R18HHH when I sold it, so someone has obviously sold that on. When I sold it, it had a complete history file which went with it. I part-exchanged it at Porsche Swindon, and they sold it on to a garage in Surrey, which I think was called Mortimers. I have odd bits and pieces on my computer, but none of the original documentation. Drop me a PM with your email address and I'll dig out what I can and send it.

Shan, you can actually join through the website, well worth the price and as Richard has said it should have a lot of history available so check back with Porsche and they should be able to supply an updated record of what services have been done depending on if the later work was done at OPC or not, hopefully the last owner will be revealed but you should have their name from the registration document, even if bought without the replacement should have their name and address in it.

 
The price of joining the club is also approx the same as it wood cost for a COA which is free with membership.

What better way to start you history for the car with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Again, please excuse my ignorance, but what benefit does the COA provide and how can it help me in my ownership?

Welcome to Cayman ownership - a great choice of Porsche - and hope you enjoy your purchase.

Re the COA, from the Porsche website:

This unique document includes the original factory-installed options of your Porsche, exterior and interior colour, engine and transmission type, production completion date and the original selling dealer. The Certificate of Authenticity can prove to be invaluable for restoration, resale and for displaying your Porsche at official Porsche events. This document can not be used for registration purposes.

You can make up your own mind whether or not you think it'll be of any use.
