Just re-joined the PCGB after about 20 years away after selling my 1984 911 Carerra 3.2 Targa in Garnet Red Metallic. Bought for £12k, sold for £12k, how much to buy today? Don't want to think about it!

I'm in R19, Thames Valley and now have a 997.2 C2 S in Metallic Macademia with Sand Beige and Black Leather.

Hi All,

I'm new to Porsche ownership, the last in my family as three brothers have all owned them. I bought my 997.1 C2S Manual Cab in May. I'm in Guildford (R29, Surrey), so if you see me around give me a headlight flash or wave and I'll wave back, always up for a chat. Recently joined Goodwood too, so hope to do a few runs down that way.

And here’s mine! 2010 C4S cab PDK. Been a member for 20 years now; this is my third Porsche after an 05 987 Boxster S and an 06 997.1 C4S cab (manual). Currently on 53000 miles with several trips from Aberdeen to France (including the LeMans Classic) under the belt . Just completed brake pad and disc replacement and currently have the central console out to strip and repaint after the rubberised paint started to bubble.

Evening all.

Newbie saying ‘Hi’.

I’ve owned my 997.1 C2s since May 2025. This is my first Porsche after a selection of various hot hatches, Jaguars and TVRs.

My only regret is that I didn’t buy one earlier, as it is everything that I’d hoped it would be.

She’s just coming up to 95’000 miles. Manual gearbox, non sunroof, no rear wiper, and besides a change in stereo, I believe it’s as otherwise standard?

With any vehicle at 20 years of age, there are a number of issues that require addressing. Just age related wear and tear really.

I’ll be taking two weeks off work next month to remove the engine and replace all of the coolant, brake and fuel lines / hoses / pipes, along with the clutch, water pump, spark plugs, coil packs, exhaust manifolds and the timing chain.

Next summer I plan of replacing all of the coolant system towards the front of the vehicle, and then a full suspension overhaul the summer after that.

After two 991's and a Cayenne I finally decided to get the car I really wanted - so a quick intro to my latest 'forever' car... a 2011 C4S - Carrera White and shown here 'as collected' shortly after purchase. Nice spec with 57k on the clock and just 2 owners from new. I have started to give her a bit of a refresh with a PDK service and new tandem pump fitted and I'm looking forward to a visit to CG in a few days time for a complete suspension overhaul and geo setup. Going to be adding some Eibach springs and new discs and pads all round at the same time along with a new set of wheels and some fresh rubber. Look forward to seeing some of you at events sometime this year.

After a couple of Porsche free years I decided to get a 'keeper' and bought this 997.1 C2S. It's a very early car and is currently having a precautionary IMS bearing upgrade as well as a comprehensive service and refresh. Having had a couple of 981 Caymans (very nice) and a 991.2 Carerra (also very nice), I wanted to go back to the earlier car as I've had two 987 S's and I prefer the 'analogue' feel of the earlier cars and think the 997.1 is the best looking Porsche of the lot, especially in silver.

I'm really looking forward to increasing the mileage from the current 36K, with the previous owner covering just 11K miles in 17 years my ambition is to get it over 100K before I hang up my keys.......

First of all I'd like to share the news that my Father Allan (Snarf) who had been a member of PCGB (R9) for nearly 20 years passed away at the end of March. I've had some great experiences with him and PCGB including a trip Le Mans 2007, a trip to the Enstone F1 team factory and curiously a day out at Lotus for a driving experience in an Elise.

So I'm new to the club as a member but the car isn't and hopefully it will be making a few appearances again soon

Hi Peter,

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your Dad well from back in the day when we used to do a lot of 997 tours when Gary and Jo were RSs and then Clive (RS)and myself (ARS).
Good to see the 997 is still going well and hope you get plenty of fun and further good memories.

I'll have to dig out all the documentation but from what I remember off the top of my head it does have the Sports Chrono Package (Manual Transmission) which adjust the dampers and give it a different throttle map. Also has the Bose Sytem

I have a couple of weeks off work next week so hoping to spend a bit of time in the car and I probably need a good 30 mins sitting in it on the drive working out where everything is as well. Not counting left/right and stop/go I've only got as far as adjusting mirrors and the seat so far

I recall the 997 C2S is in GT Silver/ Ocean Blue and fitted with the Carrera sports wheels, so that's a pretty special spec.
