NEW Macan GTS purchase, options review, questions.

Hi All

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been a member of the club for some time now, I don't post a lot but i frequently join in on drives out and events with my current 981 when I have the time. I have recently Taken a keen interest in the Macan GTS, I am currently considering purchasing a new MACAN GTS from my local dealer. I haven't Bought many new cars in my time, I feel extremely lucky to be able to consider something like this Macan GTS. I would be grateful for any advise/ reviews from people who own a Macan GTS (or other Macan models) in regards of must have extras ( or to avoid), looking to get peoples thoughts and feelings about their Macan and how they are enjoying it or not.

So I have posted my above config above. I think the GTS come with most things I would normally see as a must have with its standard spec being the model it is, so most of the additions extras are just some things i would feel it is missing and what would be nice to have. Some being a non cost extra that tie in nicely with the Dolomite Silver Metallic and Black ascents, as my colour choice and interest would be the Dolomite Silver Metallic or a close 2nd of Gentian Blue Metallic. This is all working to a sensible options list as we all wish we could tick every option box .
Would there anything you would see as a must on a Macan or something i have included as not needed or worth the extra?


Porsche OPC
I have spoken to my local OPC about a new car but not really got any further at this point in time, apart from arranging a test drive. I know the dealership is there to help with build but still looking for things to go smoothly and efficiently if ordered, hence this post. I want to ensure I know for what I want and what to expect/ look out for from the new car buying experience.
What things could I do to make things go smoothly?
Is a Discount on a new Porsche a thing? if so what what should I expect or looking to push for with respects to the brand?
Any other things I should be looking out for along with any other advise on the process?

Happy to discuss if anyone questions as I'm sure more will crop up as things progress. looking forward to everyone's reply's.

Macan GTS is a great choice.

Most people go for the pano roof at £1,284. It improves cabin environment, making it lighter and brighter.
I would plump for roof rails at £269 - a relatively small cost to maintain the Porsche transportation system option
Unquestionably, I would always go for Lane Change Assist (£453). The Macan 'B' pillars obstruct vision at the sides, so it's a safety feature on multi-lane highways.
Have seat ventilation with leather seats. Although expensive at £704, it is surprisingly beneficial for extra comfort in all seasons if you're using your Macan as a daily driver.
The storage package at £185 may be worth considering. You get 2 little cupboards (bins) enclosed with doors beneath the the front seats (OK for sun glasses, small packages etc.) and 2 elasticated nets on the seat backs. []

By all means try for discount (10% on the base price would be a great result!) but it's unlikely there will be much flexibility on a bespoke car. You could probably do better on an actual car, where the Centre is looking to move it on quickly. Try free servicing, some merch, bouquet for the misses etc.

How often do you look at your roof lining? Total waste in my opinion. Spend the money on BOSE audio, Sport Chrono, Pano Roof, or whatever.
Whatever you choose, the optimum spec will be your NEXT Macan!

Hi Clive, Andrew thanks for your replay.

Iv been looking over on some of the comment made and made a few adjustments to the build.

Roof rails - added and I like the look and may come in handy later on.
Pando roof - I was looking to go race-tex roof but i think Andrew is correct with looking at the roof lining the only reason for specking this option was due to my last Cayman having some race-tex and likening the smell and feel of it within the car.

I don't think i would end up going for the lane change. I managed to get a macan T for a day or two that had lane change assist but didn't really end up taking much notice of it. Same goes for seat ventilation i haven't managed to need it do far so don't really think its needed for myself. plus front seat heating is a standard as sports chrono.

Bose- would be nice but i think the standard sound system is good, i may look at have this added but will need to see.

I will be at Croft tomorrow, we took delivery of a Macan S in April with brushed Aluminium etc. With a white car - looks good will talk you through the other options we have tomorrow and the purchase process.
Unfortunately I will be in the Boxster tomorrow, but you are welcome to call round to take a look on your way home, the OPC had not seen the brushed aluminium until our car arrived.
