New forest meet

Any of you guys going to the New Forest meet. I hope to have the 912 ready for that and the other halfs speedster rep (with 912 engine) and may be my 356 1954. As the guy I spoke today recons that we can sort out the car by the end of the month.....................here' s hoping but I don' t care if it is not.

Hi it is a 356 thing it was sent out to all on the 356 reg but I think it can be open to others see Mike Smith not FH

It would be great.

Other half not happy she has a speedster rep with a912 unit and it will not be allowed in but I was told there was a " other " car park FH says " Any one who does not have a porsche made car (RHD) will be directed towards the public car park" What if you don' t want to park your pride and joy in the public area!!! ??????

we could all meet up afterwards and go for a drive and to a pub for a nogin and natter.

How much is your engine costin for the rebuild roughly Gav. Takin out the crank £££ (and expecting just a regrind)

Ahh!
I am going for the day to Beaullieueooo argghh that motor museum place.
So see you there!

Rebuild wise its £1800 for the gbox so far... engine we are still amassing a long list of replacements so choices still to be made, but prob in excess of 5. Pretty much everthing needs replacing.
(If a jobs worth doing its worth doing well!)
My Crank is dust, rod journals were already 2 under.
Cant wait to get it back...
 
ouch!! but like you say worth doing i hope to learn more on the engines from reading up more and looking in to them more I have been real keen to get involved. I may even ask John Lucas if he wants an apprentice. As (not been rude) these guys are getting older , take Harry Pellow RIP who would have thought he would go so soon. All that knoledge ............
