During the Daffodil Run in April a suggestion was made that it would be good to have a run over the North York Moors when the heather is in bloom. Well here it is and it should be a blooming great drive through fantastic scenery.

The run will start at 10am from Wetherby Services. It will pass through Helmsley before heading north on the great driving road to Stokesley before heading east then turning south through Egton Bridge and eventually twisting back north to The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge FOR LUNCH. I’ve booked the small blue restaurant so we can sit together. It has capacity for 22 people. Arrival time 2.30pm or soon after. Our reservation allows us up to 2.5 hours. Booking is to be made with me and places will be allocated on a first come first served. The food at The Lion is excellent.

In accordance with MSA rules there are no time limits nor compulsion to follow the suggested routes in order to allow participants to explore as they wish.

The event is only open to drivers who are current members of Porsche Club GB who have signed up for the event and emailed their details as requested below. All entrants will receive an email response from me. You cannot just turn up at the start.

If you would like to be part of the event please email the information requested below to rogo.pcgbr7@gmail.com

PLEASE DO NOT put this potentially sensitive information on the forum. Keep it safe.

1 Your PCGB membership number.

2 Your first name and surname.

3 Your email address.

4 Your mobile number.

5 Your passenger’s name and mobile number but only if they agree to it to be shared with me. It will only be used to contact you if you are likely to be driving and there’s an urgent need to make contact.

6 The model of your car.

7 The registration of your car.

8 It’s year of manufacture.

9 It’s colour.

10. Do you wish to dine at the Lion Inn?

A list of participants will be shared as it helps if participants can identify who is who and it can help people to chat, an important part of an event like the NW100. If you do not want this information to be shared please tell me. Phone numbers and email addresses will not be shared.

A WhatsApp group will be created to provide information to entrants.

Please do not post any potentially sensitive information on the Forum because anyone can read it.

Unlike many car clubs we do not charge an entry fee for events like this, however we like to raise money for charities. On this occasion we will raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and we invite members to put £10 per car or whatever you can afford into a cash collection on the day. That way we avoid the club having to pay VAT on the charity donations.
One never knows when we or our loved ones may need the YAA.

I hope to receive your entry.

N.B. SUCH HAS BEEN THE RESPONSE THAT BY 17.07 YESTERDAY ALL 22 RESERVED SEATS IN THE RESTUARANT HAD BEEN BOOKED, HOWEVER EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO EAT AT THE LION WILL BE ABLE TO EAT ALBEIT NOT WITH THE GROUP AND NOT UNTIL LATER. WE CAN OF COURSE ALL CHAT IN THE BAR. I WILL ISSUE A LIST CONFIRMING WHO THE LUCKY 22 ARE.

HAVING SPOKEN WITH THE MANAGER AT THE LION, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO ARRANGE A SECOND SITTING AT 3.15/3.30PM. IF THAT IS OF INTEREST PLEASE TELL ME. A QUICK DECISION WHETHER TO BOOK THIS AND FOR HOW MANY IS URGENT.

ANTICIPATING THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL WANT TO EAT I HAVE TAKEN UP THE OPTION OF A SECOND SITTING.
