Having previously owned 991.1 Carrera S CAB which I sold last year I had been tracking prices on GT3's daily for many years and had finally reached a point where I could look to purchase. This car popped up on JZM Porsche and was instantly on phone to get all the information and the spec seemed perfect, 2018 and low miles (~4000). I asked all the usual questions and decision was made to go forward with purchase.

On Friday I flew down from sunny Scotland to Heathrow and stayed in a hotel overnight before I took my trip to JZM Porsche. Woke up early and got picked up for the short drive to dealership where my car was sitting under wrap. Popped inside for important things like a cup of tea and a tour of showroom where some amazing machinery resides. Then had the reveal and got to sit in it before doing the paperwork. I must say great service start to finish from JZM Porsche and real enthusiasts that provided some useful ownership tips. After much changing of the driving position I was off.

The journey home was all the way up to Glasgow which was ~400 miles and the trip was a mix of Sunshine, mist & rain (that was just in England) and 99% on the motorway. In terms of feedback so far:
  • Full bucket seats are incredibly comfy for my body shape and even though I did 3x2 hour stints I could easily have driven longer
  • Engine noise, as was using cruise control at legal limits, was absolutely fine
  • Ride quality is not overly crashy even on less than ideal surfaces
  • Compared to the 991.1 I had it is just nicer in every way - all the tweaks improve it and native CarPlay is perfection
  • When the tyres are cold and standing surface water can still lose a little bit of traction going round a tight bend at very low speeds :)
I also got a chance on Sunday to go for a more brisk drive in the dry with a friend to experience proper 9k-ish gear changes and it really is something else. Engine noise is more throaty than the 991.1 I had and does not have the crackle/pop. Spec wise:
  • Guards red which I really like and the silver wheels are a bit duller in person (which I like)
  • Manual gearbox as I wanted to feel more involved in car - PDK is amazing gearbox for sure
  • Clubsport package with harnesses in box never used
  • PCCB brakes not really had chance to try out thankfully
  • Carbon bucket seats which really are super comfortable for my body shape and friend said same - with stitching in white
  • Some other bits are: front axle lift (need for my driveway), LED PDLS Plus, BOSE which sounds great on Motorway cruising, illuminated GT3 in door sill is ridiculous but I love it, Cruise Control which I do not usually use when driving but worked great, lots of alcantara but also leather and I like the mix
In terms of plans will probably do some track days just for experience rather than hardcore lap times - Knockhill driven many times before in other cars and Silverstone would be great.
