New 911 Announced - World Premiere!

GT3 SC (Sports Cabriolet)? Ltd numbers so only available to the select few. Rumoured to be the last naturally aspirated GT3😢

Spot on Steve,
Not much of launch though, was it?
Rarefied price structure, just got up to £210k ( a poverty spec) in the configurator. 😄
No big batteries though. thank goodness. 😌😌
Regards,

Clive

Strange launch. I guess they were trying to emphasise the ‘road drivers’ car’ element rather than the race track homologation special interpretation of the GT3. I hope the very lucky few owners experience their cars in the most appropriate way, by driving them.

It would seem that the GT3 has evolved into a sub brand 911 with a range of variants to suit differing use cases. It’s a far cry from that first raw 996 GT3 with little in the way of creature comforts and pretty much everything focussed on track performance. Given the success of the GT3 in its relatively short existence, and the influence it has had on marketing the other 911s, it has been another master stroke from Porsche.

Back in the day, I was loaned a 968 Club Sport by Exeter PC. It set the scene for the GT3's to come.
In its stripped out form with rock hard suspension, string door handles, Recaros and rear seat delete, it was right up my street at the time, but my old bones would rail at the very thought of such a bolide nowadays.
I recall I spent the first evening with it giving all the locals down at the local pub demo runs. 😄😄
Regards,

Clive
