Doesn't that look sweet ?

My first was a 924 bought 32 years ago --- it was a Company car and it cost as much as my house --- a Wimpey Semi !

How lucky was I ?

I parked it on top of a hedge on the 13th November 1980 ... every single panel was dented or badly scuffed, even though the only mechanical damage was a punctured radiator ...

[:(]

Des, remind us of how the car was in it's former life,,,wasn't it a yellow Sporto?...or was that another one?

Paul ... it was a silver, sportomatic absolutely standard, looked after by Tony Bianchi who seemed to extract a few more ponies from the mfi ... spent the first year driving with right foot and then both feet ... probably says a lot!

Owning your first Porsches 35 and 32 years ago.....I didn't realize you two were so old! :ROFLMAO:

They're actually even older than they look Steve. They may be a bit baggy and worn in the seat area but they have retained some patina - that's the benefit of sympathetic restoration. [:D][:D][:D]

Have you got any pics of it 35 years ago Des? Black and white is okay... [;)]

Chris said wimpy semi... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ...childish to giggle I know but then I was only 4yrs old 35 yrs ago!!

I was 18 when EOE 524K came into my life ....... it actually had a different reg plate which the previous owner retained a very very famous rock drummer it was something like XUX --- think he played for Led Zep .... [:D]

The salesman at JCT 600 in Leeds, is still selling to me !!

I still remember the Test Drive in the 924 ---

Was very much a daily driver doing 10,000 miles a year mainly running round London, great pace from the lights, particularly handbrake and brake on while engaged in gear and then let the whole lot off ...... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee [:D]

Still got my first Porsche, and the second come to think of it.....

Anyone else still got their first?

First one gone, second one gone (money needed for a piece of land), third one still here, fourth one still here, not thinking about a fifth.

Des, if you can verify this was once "Bonzos" 911 it could well be worth more than the asking price to the right buyer, if it is a "Des-ism" and it was in fact a Mr Powell who hit the skins for Slade, it may not have quite the same effect on value! [:D]
