My 996 written off in fire

Unfortunately my car was in a MOT garage when the whole industrial estate went up in flames a few weeks ago in Baldock Herts and now it is a burnt out shell. My insurance has agreed to a total loss pay out and have come forward with an offer which is obviously below my expectations. Any suggestions to put forward my case for a bigger payout would be helpful.
Also, I have my Hardtop - Midnight Blue for sale in the For Sale section if anyone is interested as I am unlikely to buy another cabriolet.

That's extremely bad luck Mike, I really feel for you.
In general terms we'd probably always expect an insurer to try their luck with an initial low offer.
It's probably accepted that you never accept the first offer, but push back, maybe going with a 2nd or probably a 3rd offer (that might be more to your liking).
The best way to encourage your insurer to reach a mutually agreeable price is to provide them them with photographic evidence of the condition (inside and out) of what your vehicle was like. Compare it against other similar vehicles currently or recently on the market, list any extras that your car had, mileage etc. It's rather like a car salesman "selling up" a vehicle to you in a garage ... you're now selling it up to the insurance company!
