Museum trip and ring trip next year

Just had to read back throughout the thread as it appears I have missed a few posts. So I have currently booked the following hotels

Tuesday night - Tryp, Oberhausen
Wednesday - Dorint am Nurburgring
Thursday - ibis Stuttgart City

So now to decide on ferry. It's the same distance to Harwich as it is to Dover. I can arrive in Hook of Holland around 7.30am on Tuesday so could hook up somewhere in Holland en route to Dinslaken. Your ferry booking wasn't clear earlier if you're heading to Rotterdam or Zeebrugge. Can someone confirm.

On the return I'd really like to get into Friesinger Motorsport in Karlsruhe. They are rebuilding several 924 GTR's currently so would be nice to get a walk around and a few pics. I'll send them an email to see if there's an option to view. However I don't want to be pressed into leaving the museum too soon to get to Freisinger on Friday afternoon and not sure if Saturday is an option for them. Once I know I'll make a decision on Boppard

All this booking is on the assumption my paint shop and engine shop pull their fingers out and finish their respective work so I can bolt the two back together. Then I need to run it in and then get JMG to final tune prior to hooning in Europe. Seems like a lot of time but it will soon be the 11th hour and still not 100%. Here's hoping!

Bad news but there was always a risk this would happen, the ring have published the tourist days for 2013 and the Thrusday 2nd May is not available it seems, only the 1st, 3rd and 4th (Or Wednesday, Friday or Saturday).

I think the stop at the Ring was purely a place en route between Dinslaken and Stuttgart, somewhere to visit, have a brew and a few photos. My friend who visits the Ring several times a year and has a car built purely or the job has told me so many horror stories that my car would not be going on track, it's a very costly affair if something goes wrong, he also doubted the track would be available on that date.

As said still a place of interest for the stop over.

Cheers, Paul

As Ruddy has said I have no interest in taking my car round the Ring, but want to stop to have a few photos and a break on the way down to Stuttgart [:)]

We can make our own entertainment once the cars are parked up and the bars are open [:D]

Well maybe not such bad news then! Although I would have jumped at the chance, always wanted to do some laps around the ring, although perhaps it is a little over subscribed these days...

Will you be coming along Edd, would be good to see you again.............say hello to Pete from me.

Hi Jim, We were speaking about you only yesterday actually when I told him of your planned trip. Its looking less and less likely for me I'm afraid, in one way its great I'm doing the Alpine Assault with PN in July but equally I'm a bit gutted its making it difficult to do 2 big euro trips this year. The ring trip would have been perfect for my 40th too. Having paid the deposit for the PN trip, I'm now committed, we will see if I can sort something out.

It's 110 miles from Dinslaken to the Ring so presuming we leave the show around 3pm then we would be there for 4.30-5pm at the latest. This will still give plenty of time for those of you that want to have a couple of laps [:)]

I am happy to sit and have a beer watching the 'nutters' go fo it [:D]

Cheers Martin, i was wondering how many miles it was from Dinslaken to the Ring, not sure what time the rings open till, but it should stay light till at least 8pm so 4:30-5pm should be perfect !!! [:D]
