MOT fail

My Targa had her MOT on Monday but unfortunately she failed on a powersteering pipe cowling that was split. ( situated under the drivers side wheel arch) The OPC wanted £1,224.42 to fix this issue. I declined and took my car to a local Porsche independent, they fixed this by cutting off the old cowling (clip) and applying a jubilee clip. Job done in less than 15 mins and all for the price of a drink.

The independent said that Porsche would want to replace all of the pipe which is a big job (around 6 hours) as they would not mend The pipe.

my re-test is Saturday so now all should be fine.


 
OPC will do it by the book, i guess they have to but the Indi will do it the old school way try and fix it over replacing complete part and saving on lots of labour I had a similar experience not so long ago.
