PCGB, Region 13, Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire December 2008 The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month. Situated on Hadley Heath, near Ombersley. Post Code is WR9 0AR. This is a well- known country establishment, with a large, good car park and within easy reach and is usually well attended. A very small noggin was held at the above this month, it was not an official meet, due to the proximity of Christmas and New Year. I have arranged our Spring Sunday Lunch at The Farmers Arms, Birtsmorton, for Sunday The 8th March. 12.30 for 1pm. The cost will be £17.50 for a four course lunch, including cheese and biscuits and coffee. A menu will be available, but, in the mean time, please let me know that you wish to come, as soon as possible. The usual arrangement will be cheque with order made out to PCGB and marked on the back "R13 Spring Lunch". If you have any special requirements, please let me know in good time. Children under ten will have a concession. We shall be considering this as a Monthly Meet venue. So do come along, especially you locals and if it looks viable, we shall start in April. The MG Car club meet here once a month also. The Trumpet is now out of the question for meetings or food. So a Happy New Year to all and let's see you in your numbers. Forthcoming Events. Sunday 8th March as above. John Lord.

Thanks for arranging it but - Gosh, can it get much further away from the Telford area (also other Shropshire centres of population such as Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and Oswestry etc) and still be in R13?

HI - John tries very hard to organise events throughout the R13 area, please remember that it combines three large counties in Herefordshire/Worcestershire/Shropshire. We probably have the biggest geographic area and members are spread into pockets throughout - at least we have two monthly meets now - which makes it easier for our regions members to get to a regular meet. R9 has a new RO now John has stood down from running the West Midlands region and we often link up with them, so keep an eye on that part of the forum too - Paul Seagrove is the new RO and a great guy too! If you have any ideas of a venue for a meet in your part of the region mention in to John or PM me and I will pass it on as John does not have very good access to the internet. Happy New Year Adam

I do appreciate that a lot of effort goes into organising events and I am grateful for John's sterling work. I was commenting on the location but not meaning to be particularly critical. I have attended one R13 meeting but it is a long way from home and I certainly can't bring my (young teenage) family that far in my 911! I will keep my eyes open for suitable venues in the more northern outposts of the region.

Hi and dont worry I didnt think you were being critical of John or the Region, but I wanted to point out a vast land mass that we have to deal with - someone is always going to be a distance away. Which meeting did you go to ? Bowling Green or Trumpet? I live near the Worcs/Shrops border so Bowling Green is good for me but Trumpet to far for a school night[:D]. Where in Shrops are you? We used to have a monthly meet (summer months only) at a venue in Bridgnorth which was great until the venue pulled the plug on Sunday meets (rather sell steak and chips to sunday day trippers). There is often a meet from a Shrops car group that has all osrts of cars at it - its often boosted on here so keep an eye on that also. Cheers Adam

Adam I live about 10 miles almost due east of Telford - on the border with Staffordshire. I have met some folk from the 997 register at Cosford - where they have Sunday morning general car meets and I think that it was the Trumpet I went to (with the good lady) - the pub had a large car park at the front and we met in a room at the rear of the pub. Both places are too far for me on a school night but Bridgnorth is less than 30 mins away so that would have been great - pity it got stopped! I will keep my eyes open for anywhere suitable around here - even as a one-off - and try to get to as many meetings as I can.

Richard, hope your well [:)] We should be back up to the Cosford show sooner than later, I was chatting to Paul the new RO about a West Midlands trip during this year.. As the register we're hoping to go back for the Breakfast meet followed this time with a drive to North Wales for lunch amongst other things [;)] Adam, I'm hoping to also pop along to one of the regions meets when hte weather improves to at least catch up with both JohnL and PeterK. garyw

Gary I'm fine. Hope you are keeping well. When are you planning the trip to Wales via Cosford?

Just waiting for the club diary to be fully finished, so at least we don't clash with too many things!! It will be posted on the forum though [:D] garyw

Gary - Hope that you had a great xmas and new year! Be great to catch up some time the run out from Cosford sounds great - if you allow old tubs like mine to join your shiney new ones - LOL[:D]. Maybe see you at the next one ? - its the last Tuesday in the month (27th). Cheers Adam

Richard - hope to meet up at the Bowling Green at one of our meets - the roads in that area are nice and worth a run out if you can one Tuesday, its not too far from Kidderminster/Bewdley. Let me or John know if you find anywhere that would be good your side of the region. Graeme Burnett is based in Telford do you know him? He has a nice 944 cab. Take care Adam
