mmmm scrape,knock,bang dead engine

I'm up for that mate ,I love working on cars and have done many many jobs even on fairly new cars like brake rebuilds, suspension replacement etc but I do lack experience when working on say an actual engine ,and like nothing more than listening to other peoples experiences and advice before I even lift a spanner

you anyone fancies say a spanner and sponge day in the northwest then thats something I'd definatly goto
my mates in the 924 club and they do loads of stuff like this, swap parts ,help each other out especailly when
its a job needing more than one pair of hands or expertesse, and then they'll
go out and have a barbie somewhere in a country park ,Ive been with him to meets alot of the last few years theyre
a credit to there club

Hi [:)]

i live in middleton , towards rochdale

hi mate I just looked at your facebook page ,and wow you got stuck into that sill lol I'd love to have seen that
is it still in progress or is it finished , also have you done any big mechanical work on yours yet ,obviously as
a mechanic yourself you'd probably just take out the engine and get stuck in lol

still in progress , today ive managed to replace the rear shocks as the drivers side did not have a shocker and the passenger one was rusted but luckily i got all 4 corners suspension for £40 thats off a S2 turbo and next fun is going to be seeing if the front struts on a S2 and a LUX are the same.

Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear about your mishap .
I have a 1989 S2 with extensive service history from Hartech Bolton 3700K , the engine has covered 138000 miles , just done the belts, runs sweet as a nut.
I might be breaking it due to extensive rot inner and outer sills and front wings are messy too.
How much would you offer for the engine ? You can come to hear and test it before purchase ?
I am based in Bury lanc.
Regards JC

The interior on my S2 is Blue full leather and drivers bolster needs sorting .
I am not sure if I will break it yet .
There are a lot of people out there that are not fazed by repairing the sills , so might offer it for sale complete.
Depends on how much Chris might offer for the engine ? That is the biggest part to sell .

what the bloodyhell is going on with my engine I put the cam cover back on and started because i had to move it ,and it ran perfectly except for the oil smoke were it now needs a new cam cover

I'm sure the problem hasnt gone away .but it obviously doesnt happen when the engines cold
