Minty's 16th B-day & Bad News
- Thread starter Andrew M Bonner

Hi Andrew
I am really sorry for your loss. What a dream you had and realised too. I just hope that you had agreed value insurance so that your loss can at least be appreciated in cash terms too.
I hope that the replacment car will give you as much fun as Minty did.
Best of luck.

Andy,
Great commiserations-you must be gutted-however presumably all occupants are well & undamaged-in a lesser car that might not be the case-I have never been able to understand why in the split seconds a person has to analyse road conditions, they swerve to potentially put other road users at risk, rather than kill a minor animal-none of us want to hit pheasants but sometimes there is no other option.
Hope you can obtain a satisfactory replacement.
Colin.

Thats a bad job. I am sure the right man could fix it. The insurance companies finding will be based on the costs of OPC doing the work with brand new parts.

Bad luck indeed...... but look on the bright side, the black with black one is still available!
On a more serious note, it would indeed be interesting to see what a Porsche restoration specialist such as Autofarm made of the car as is.... and then it's down to how much your insurers want for the wreck.

Sorry to see ..... hope you are both OK

Tragic news [&o]. If I was in your position I would try to forget any ideas of buying the salvage and trying to rebuild her. I think it would just be better to use the insurance settlement to move on. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Truely shocked..............I feel for you Andrew. Hope you nor anyone else was hurt in the accident.
I looked to possibly buying Minty back in 2005, but missed out by a day or so. Great car, great provenance. I'm sure that you have had as much pleasure in owning it as I have had with mine.
Apart from the knowledge that the car has been 'violated' in this way, is it worthwhile considering having Minty re-built despite the write-off status? How much damage was done?

Andrew, this is a real shame but as has been said before at least in a car like these with the build quality at least nobody was injured.
Without sounding mercenary i hope the insurance company valued the car on the basis of its limited build status and the prices of the cars on offer such as the one at Paragon. If they have i understand the black one there is a true gem and may be a worthy replacement after finally owning Minty after such a long wait and search.
