Could I ask for some advice please. Recently I suffered an oil leak that thankfully turned out to be the common "2nd oil filter rusted & leaked" which was sorted out easily. However, when the AA put my pride and joy onto the low loader they mashed up the toeing eye (front bumper) trying to get the plug out! I couldn't believe my eyes! He actually used a penknife blade & it all happened so quickly I was unable to intervene! Anyway, I've put in a complaint to the AA who sent out their Paint specialist and they have agreed only to patch repair the area around the towing eye. I asked Bodytechnics who have done some work on the car a few years ago (also who Guildford OPC use), they had a look and strongly suggest that you should not do patch repairs on these cars and it would be much better & will work out lasting much longer to respray the front bumper.
So what is the consensus? Should I agree to have the small area re-painted by a local specialist that the AA recommend or should I fight my corner & insist on getting an OPC approved repairer to do the work? Very grateful for your opinions.
