mileage on at set of rears

How many miles do you get on average from a set of rears on your 996?
I have a TT and run at present conti 2. I have been told that they are not the best wearing tyre around but I am nearly down to the wear bars after only 3K. I don't race or rally but drive the car regulary in a way it should be (I think). Could be a fault in setup but it has been in for alignment and checked recently after new shock fitted to the front. Hardly any wear to the fronts after 10K
So what mileage are you getting so I can figure whether this is the normal running cost.

1. Was/is the wear even across the tyres?

2. When was a full four wheel alignment last carried out?

3. Are you running book pressures?

Even tyre wear all the way across, this was the reason for having the aligmnment done about three months ago, as it scrubbed out a set on the inners edges only.
Last alignment was done two weeks ago at the OPC after new shocks fitted.
Standard tyre pressures ran in order to give a fair comparison to the previous alignment.

Car has ran into a few more difficulties with a phone call from the OPC(after a call to Porsche Germany ) today saying that the front Diff/torque tube doesn't make the noise it is making so there is nothing they will do!!!

Seems as though you've ruled everything out................

I know hard driven 964's and RS's wear out rears in 3-5000 miles, so well done, again!![:D]

Thank you once again, if that is what I'm going to get from the rears to attain the driving pleasure I get, then so be it, but if there is a problem then I'm sure we would all want to see it put right.
