SVP are asking for a rough idea of numbers, so if you plan to be there please either reply on this forum, or email/telephone me or Steve JC to let us know.

Many thanks
Phil

Hi all in the Worcester area,

Dom of SVP is a top bloke with a wealth of knowledge from many walks of motorsport & restoration.

SVP have done all the work on my 911 SC and it's currently back in SVP for more titifation, so say hello to my car if you go which I would wholeheartedly recommend.

I live just outside Edinburgh(300 miles away) so will not be paying a visit until 13th March when I will be collecting my baby before attending the Oulton Park RS day on the 14th.

Enjoy all who visit and ask to see the Cayman SV, it's a belter.

Alan

JUST TO MENTION THAT IF YOU ARRIVE EARLIER AND THE GATE TO THE TRADING ESTATE IS CLOSED, PLEASE WAIT OUTSIDE UNTIL SOMEONE FROM SVP COMES TO OPEN IT. THE PHONE NUMBER FOR SVP IS: 01299 251152

SVP say that there should be a few interesting cars for us to look at on Tuesday: '65 912 race car, '69 911e resto, '81sc resto, lightweight Cayman road cars, Boxster Race car, Cayman with a supercharged engine and sequential transmission in early development, Aston DBS V8 race car, peugeot 205 Gti fia historic rally car build , plus plenty of others.....

Hi Philip, please pencil me onto the list. I'd like to go but it depends entirely on how far from Cheltenham I am that day and whether I'm able to make it back in time. Many thanks.

Hi Philip,

As I feared I'm not going to able to make it tonight due to work commitments. My apologies. Hope it goes well.

A large group of members were welcomed by Dominic Delaney and his team at Specialist Vehicle Preparations last night.

SVP are independent Porsche specialists offering service, repair and race/rally preparation since 2009. As promised a fascinating selection of cars were in the workshop.

The 1965 912 race car looked very smart, whilst the 1969 911E Sportmatic that was undergoing a long term restoration was gleaming in its plum coloured paint, and is expected to be completed in around 6 months time. A 1989 911SC is also undergoing a full bare metal restoration, but is just a painted shell at the moment.

There was also a lovely example of a Cayman SV road car, a Boxster race car, a Cayman with a supercharged engine and sequential transmission in early development, and also two non-Porsche vehicles; an Aston Martin V8 DBS historic race car with interesting provenance, and a Peugeot 205 GTI being built as an FIA historic rally car.

The Cayman SV is an upgrade package developed by SVP to convert any standard Cayman to a fast road or track day car with an early Porsche driving experience, but retaining all modern day creature comforts. It sounded glorious!

It was fascinating to talk to Dominic and his team about the individual vehicles, and also about a number of engine rebuilds that were underway, including intermediate shaft bearing repairs and upgrades on the flat six water cooled engine. This, plus coffee and cake, made for a very enjoyable evening and we look forward to a future return visit.

Thank you for everyone who turned up last night, very good informative evening, just a couple of images from the night, thaks to Phil and Yiannes for them.
