Porsche seem to be pushing for orders on the new Macan Electric, I had a deposit placed about two years ago but requested a refund when I saw the changes by government and also development of synthetic fuels.
I personally have changed my opinions on electric cars and really don’t see ever buying one until I seen an advert for Dacia,s first electric car , £15995 and a range of 137 miles ☺️

It does seem as though the EV market is being kept afloat by company car sales rather than private buyers right now. Full marks to Dacia for introducing a budget EV for pottering around town, although I doubt many owners will buy the most basic car.

My take on synthetic fuel is that it’s a non-starter for general use unless the major oil companies get involved in production and distribution.

I have to agree Jeff. At the moment, synthetic fuel is too expensive for general use and until it becomes much much cheaper to produce it'll be either fossil fuels or BEVs. Speaking to my sales guy yesterday, they've just come back from the Macan E launch in Lisbon, they experienced a real world driving range of ~300 miles from the 100kw battery. I've put the wife on the list for a test drive even though it'll be a company car but sadly for those private buyers, it's only a matter of time before they start being taxed.

I've placed my order for a new Macan Turbo EV....however still pending seeing and trying one in the flesh.....I have however also seen the launch of the SQ6 e-tron with orders open end of this month. Built on same platform etc....it could be tempting as it does look a cracking car in the press/marketing photos.
