M033 option

I have a 96 C2 which is fitted with the M033 option. Could someone please clarify exactly what the M033 was?

I ask this because when I bought the car I asked about M033. My indie said, off the top of his head, that it was stiifer and slightly lowered but not as much as with the M030 option. When he checked the Porsche data base there was no mention of lowering but only references to stiffer springs and dampers. This seemed to tie in with Adrian Streather's bible. Unfortunately the same author, in his Data Plate Code Breaker book lists two M033 codes; one mentions "sports shock absorbers" and the other refers to "lowered suspension, 993 and 996". Also October's GTPorsche has a buyer's guide to the 993 which, referring to the 2-wheel drive Carrera S, describes the car as being "10mm lower at the front and 20mm lower at the rear.........thanks to the M033 package".

All information gratefully received.

My apologies for not noticing your name at the top of the page. Put it down to my aging eyesight failing to pick out beige print against a blue background. Thanks for the information.

Cheers.
