Luggage net over engine cover

I was surprised when my 718 was delivered without the useful elastic net on the engine cover shelf. The four D rings are there but nothing to hook onto them :(. Perhaps it was a configurator box I forgot to tick? 😣

This net was immensely useful on the 981 when touring abroad, ideal for locating frequently used items: road atlases, hotel guides, etc.

My OPC has shown little enthusiasm for supplying a net. Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain one?

Your dealer should be able to supply the net Phil. It sounds as though they just can’t be bothered.🙄

If you want to trawl through your 718’s PET to see if there’s a part number you can give them, here’s a useful link:

Maybe someone like Design911 will be able to help if you’re getting nowhere with your dealer?

Good luck!

Jeff

Thanks Motörhead, but think I’ll pass on trawling 589 pages of part numbers.

Still wish I’d snatched the old one out of my 981 before i sold it!

Brian, FYI the Cayman has 4-locating tabs for the luggage net on the engine cover as well as in the luggage well.

Phil, back in the good old days my 987.2 CS came with the luggage net as a standard fitment!😀

The PET for my car gives the part number as 987 551 339 00 [and also 987 551 339 01]. I’m sure the net is identical to the one in your 718.

Jeff, as usual, is spot on :) The part number for the net is the same for 987/981/982 models: 98755133900. They stopped being provided as standard equipment on the 981 series and became an Tequipment option instead. I bought one from my OPC for my 981 to use over the engine cover and a plastic liner for the boot area. I bought a second net off eBay when I got my 718 GT4 rather than get a new plastic liner as I found I didn't use it and the 981 version doesn't fit the re-shaped boot of the 718.
