luggage/boot rack

Hi, planning a trip to spain with tour of
normandy on the way. was hoping to get a luggage rack for the boot, i've not seen them for boxsters but have for other rag tops such as mx5 and z3. does anyone have one of these and if so, what are your experiences of them i.e. are they stable enough at high speed etc.
Will definitely need some space for the girlfriends make up!

Are you sure you need it?

We've done many 2 week touring trips around Europe and not needed more than the 2 boots supplied.

Squashy bags are best...
 
waw 2 boots and you need MORE room for make-up[:D]
that is one serious chick you have there[;)]
 
trying to cover all eventualities, yes she does come with a lot of accessories!

Hint. Makeup will not like being in the bottom of the rear boot (heat from the Exhaust). If you have a dark car then it won't like being in the top of the rear (or front boot) either. Especially in Spain (Car gets too hot to touch!).
The front of the front boot has a radiator next to it if you have a 986S - so... (you know the rest [:D]).

You do have to plan where to put things that might melt!

There are also a couple of options - Porsche used to do a boot mounted "Case" that has a built in brake light (as you will be obscuring the original). Pretty expensive though, and probably discontinued. Seen occasionally on ebay.

I have seen adverts for a "custom" rack for the Boxster, but I can't find any details I'm afraid. [&o]

but not sure on fitting etc. will have to give the company a shout, just wondering if anyone has got one of these in the link above.
stuffing things into plastic bags may be my only option!!

I'd do a dry run first.

Prior to our first trip abroad for 10 days we had the luggage stacked in the front room. It was quite a pile and I didn't think it would fit but it did with loads to spare.

I've only seen one Boxster with the boot rack and that was because the owner had a mobile dialysis unit packed inside the boot.

The key is to use soft bags and not suitcases.
