LSD for Cayman S

Thinking of installing a LSD now that my 2 year warranty expires next month as supplied by Parr for circa £700 as grip is lost on many track day circuits. Has anyone had one fitted and if so does it work? Also as the car has only completed 14k miles is it worth £895 for extended warranty when nothing has gone wrong at all and car is likely to be changed for another Cayman (DSG?) in 2009.
