Looking forward to the visit

So is my brother who still owns the Lotus Esprit S2 he purchased in 1979 from Cubleys at Ainsdale (Southport)

Driven in the wet once

It has now covered 47,000 miles --- still looks elegant and the ride is typical Lotus

For me in my youth (circa 1980)

Drove down to Cornwall when I discovered a Lotus Europa Twin Cam (1972 reg no LGY 18K) Pistachio (one owner) - supplied by the London Sports Car Centre

My brother was my wingman in a white Alfasud 1.5ti in Martini livery - camp but it was new and I was young !!!

Swapped cars and I paid £450 to settle the deal

His wife had the Alfa - my brother drove home - One of the best sports cars I had

All within 20 hours !!

I am please to say here (at last) are the finalised arrangements for our Lotus tour:-

We will be guests of Lotus Engineering, Potash Lane, Hethel, Norwich, Norfolk NR14 8EZ, Tel.01953 608000 for a tour of their main manufacturing facility. [ul][*]We will convene in the main car park outside the Lotus factory from around 10am and shortly before tour start we will go into the factory as a group.[*]The tour will start at 10.30am prompt and is expected to take around 1½ hours (give or take). I'll be closing off this event early next week and submitting our attendants list to Lotus. There are currently 32 of us booked in and we will be taken around the factory in 2 batches.

Many thanks for organising a wonderful and very interesting visit. Interesting to see that in the modern world, there are still some that are very much hand crafted.... the logistics guys at Lotus must have very interesting lives dealing with so many third parties to get all the gear into one place!
