Looking for advice regarding value of 992 911 rims.

Hi all,

I have just picked up my 911 GTS after 21 months!
...and I had intended to keep and use the winter wheels and rims from my 911 S (still 992) with it.

But stupid me, I didn't consider the fact that the configuration of my 911 GTS has centerlock wheels!

...so the old ones aren't compatible.

TBF my Porsche Centre have come up with solution of agreeing to store and swap my *tyres* twice a year, but it leaves me with a set of 992 Rims that I have no use for.

The Centre have offered me a 'swap' of a lovely limited edition Touring Bag

Its a lovely Bag, but sells for around £520.00

I had expected to sell the Rims for about £1750 ish. They are pristine, and have been driven on for a total of about 12 months (4 per year for 3 years).

So I thought I'd ask the forum here.

Am I being completely unrealistic about what the rims are worth, or are the Centre trying to massively low-ball me?

All thoughts and opinions very gratefully received!

I think that you are probably right with your thoughts of £1,700 for the 4 Rims, there is a set on Ebay for £1750 (Silver)

And the Porsche Bag costs around £550 - £600, so yes they are getting a good deal, but of course they still have to sell them.

If you consider it this way, you have to sell the wheels for more than £600 on a platform like Ebay to be equal, and anything over that is a bonus for you.....

Personally, unless you don't want the hassle and are not totally drawn by the Porsche Bag, I'd have a go at selling them yourself....

Of course this is purely my opinion..... [;)]

Good luck with it all......... and I hope you enjoy the new GTS.... Please post a photo when you can...

Regards David

Hi David,

Thanks for that. I think you are right. While it is a very lovely bag and saves a lot of aggravation by giving them to the centre, the simple fact is that I wouldn't be looking to buy that bag in any other circumstances.

I may throw them up on here and see if anyone is interested.
