Hi people,
Installed a double din sony unit and need a fascia surround. The only ones I can find available are a complete kit circa £35 with all the fittings, cage and surround. All I need is the surround, don't know if anyone has one spare they'd like to sell as opposed to me buying a full kit which I don;t need?
While on topic the unit I've gone for is the Sony XNV L66BT. So far very impressed. Bluetooth phone which works very well, instant connection and full phonebook access etc. I've never been a fan of GSM which I have had in both my Aston and C4S - dual sim caused me issues with calls going missing and a single sim was very fiddly, especially being an iphone owner, I found myself illegally using the phone on occassion and I don't need any more points on my license!
Ipod connection is also being enjoyed and the interface for selecting albums and artists etc isn't too bad.
DVD and USB video is great albeit not very safe while driving... Cool when stopped though, my girlfriends was having a look through the holiday snaps on the unit on the way home which was cool!
The main benefit to the unit is the integrated Tom Tom Pro nav with HD live traffic. Having just returned from a 600 Mile round trip to Falmouth and back, the Nav is brilliant!!! Really easy to follow, accurate time to arrive at destination and the having been caught in a couple of jams both of which I was informed of prior to getting stuck with pretty accurate estimates of delays!
All in all it's taken the in car tech to another level and I still have access to all the vehicle related data vior the screen on the instrument panel. Paid £620 for it, could have been worse and pretty painless to install into my existing Bose setup.
