The key to the door locks fell of my keychain Friday:-( eventually found the spare which doesn't work. Car is in for mot Wednesday, so I guess I need new locks as well. Wasn't very happy about that as you can imagine
 
A locksmith should be able to make you a key for the existing lock. You may have to remove the handle from the car for the work or they might be able to "read" the profile with a tool (not sure). Worth a call tho as it will most certainly be cheaper than replacing two doors and rear hatch locks.

You might be able to have these locks "re-keyed" to your ignition also so you are back to one key works all....
 
As Bruce has said, investigate a locksmith being able to do it without you having to remove the lock from the car. I've been messing around with the drivers door lock on my 968 cab for a week or more now, getting the handle off and back on can be a bit of a nightmare. The workshop manual etc reckons you can remove and refit the handle without removing the door card, but I beg to differ! Replacing a worn inner lock, I've had to remove not only the door card but also the rear window guide rail to be able to access the various connecting levers and see what I was doing - and even then I've managed to break the "reverse lever" that operates the lock.
 
I've been thinking about this a bit more, and I think you can remove the lock barrel without too much dismantling of the rest of the mechanism or pulling the door card.

First step is to look at the appropriate page of PET so you can see how it goes together (diagram 804-05)!

Next step - remove the screw in the door frame - the one that's part hidden behind the door seal - to free the handle. Slide the handle slightly towards the front of the car and tip the handle slightly toward you, you'll see the lock barrel and the white plastic connector clipped onto the back of it.

Look carefully at the lock barrel, about halfway back there is a tiny roll pin that secures it into the handle casting. A small phillips screwdriver (the silver ones with rotating heads, tiny ones for messing with spectacles etc, I got my kit from Tescos for about £2!) and a gentle tap was enough to remove it. Be very careful to catch it as it's very small (about 1cm long but 1-2mm diammeter!). Then unclip the white plastic thing - thread a string through it so you don't loose it into the door as it's almost impossible to retrieve without lots more dismantling! You can now take the lock barrel out, and have not had to remove the "reverse lever" that is such a pain to disconnect and reconnect! Nearly forgot - there's also a microswitch attached to the front of the barrel, the clamp has a small slot head screw and is also tiny, so again be careful! Another "be careful" is twisting the handle with the "reverse lever" attached - I did this trying to reinstall my handle and broke the casting where the cranked rod part pivots on the black cast bit, so I'm now waiting for a replacement!

Hope this helps - and good luck! My problem was wear on the inner lock mechanism, I've had to strip out the door card and the window guide and it's turned into a rela nightmare.
 

I have been there also... I lost my keys in a garage fire and I inadertantly broke one of the levers on the door handle and had to get another handle ! The locksmith I am friendly with is a big VW Golf fan which is a big advantage.. I dont have a key for my passenger side barrel nor the boot lock so Conal is going to recode them for me over the winter so that 1 key fits all !

Normal locksmith will sort it for youy no problem ! [;)]
 
OPC will probably be able to source you a replacement key, or maybe provide enough info to get a new one cut.
