Hi, Just upgraded from my 987.2 to a 2014 981, really pleased. Quick question, the 987.2 shut itself down after 7 days of no use And had to unlocked by my key. Does the 981 do the same?

As a 987.2 CS owner unfortunately I can’t answer your question Chris but I would imagine that’s been carried-over to the 981. If you look in your car’s handbook (somewhere!) it should tell you.
BTW it wasn’t necessary to use the key on your 987.2 to wake up the car after 7-days. All you needed to do was to pull the door handle and then use the key fob. Hopefully it’ll be the same on your 981.

I have read the manual but can find no reference to it, the 987 manual did say you had to use a key after 7 days but nothing in the 981 handbook.
My 981S has been left for a couple of weeks and opens on the key button as does my Macan.
7 days for a “deep sleep” on a 987. although undocumented you didn’t have to use the key to wake it. Just lift the door handle and it came back to life and responded to remote presses.
I would be surprised if the 981 didn’t do the same (sleep and wake) but it has battery monitoring smarts for the stop/start stuff so maybe the gap is longer.
