Locked out of front lid after removing battery

I’ve remove my battery then without thinking closed my lid and now cant open it
I’ve tried opening it with another battery connected to Terminal A in the fuse box but it still won’t open
any idears please 2006 3.4 s Boxster

I did think of that one will try tomorrow.
i Don’t know if this model has a wire under the drivers side wheelarch
this is mentioned in you tube!

Nigel,

I believe that the emergency release cable is under passenger side (LHF) wheel arch liner.

Easily done!! If you have no battery the power lead will not work

On a 996/986 the cable can be anywhere as it floats
On a 997/987 the cable is on the passenger side (UK) in front of the wheel
1st time you might need to remove the wheel to find it but is should be seen at the top of the Front of the arch cover
Pull this and it should release the bonnet

One problem with the 997/987 is that the front PU has an extra metal fixing in between the headlight and bonnet which you cant remove without removing the lights

Easily done!! If you have no battery the power lead will not work

On a 996/986 the cable can be anywhere as it floats

Thanks to everyone for the advice have sorted the problem managed to use the pull cable inside the wheel arch , eventually! My wheel locking but was also in the front compartment so couldn’t remove the wheel after using 2 trolley jacks and lot of hand twisting the lid is now open, won’t do that again!!

Only suggested removing wheel to make it easier to pull cable
I can understand how you would drop the lid down after removing the battery
If you had a 986 the cable always seems to disappear under the PU (FRont Bumper) but at least you can get it off with minimum effort just causing minor damage to the screw holes under the cover - I am not sure you could get the PU of the 987 without serious damage

So everybody make sure you put something under the bonnet if you remove the battery!!
