Hello all!

Can anyone suggest an indi porsche garage in the south wales area, my '44 need to be looked at. I dont really want to take it to a "joes garage". I think the cv joint may not be the best due to bad clunking when trying to drive so i will have to trailer the car somewhere.

Cheers

Kelvin,
A CV joint on a 944 is nothing special. Only thing I would suggest is that you ask that new bolts be used as the old ones are stretched (part of the tightening process not wear and tear). Your usual garage should be able to do the work no problem.
Cheers,

thanks for the quick reply
Also ive been thinking?? not a good think lol
This clunking im getting is nearly every turn of the wheels, would anybody thing this could be the gearbo and not the cv's. by the way its an auto

thanx

I know this is going to sound daft but have you checked all your wheel nuts are tight ? I had same problem. Garage said it was clutch then said it might be wheel bearing I found it was loose wheel nuts. Very unlikey but worth checking anyway
If it was C J's I would expect to be noisier when turning one direction or the other, more than going in a straight direction anyway. I'd check the prop uj's
just done a check in the Haynes manual and the section on driveline is completly missing ? what a load of c*** the thing is .
