lithium battery issues

Hi, I have a 2018 Cayenne S and the "Low battery seek assistance" alarm has come on.
Has anyone on the forum had this and if so how did they rectify the issue.

Regards

If you have a battery charger/maintainer specifically for lithium batteries then it may be worth attaching it and let it run a full charge cycle.

Agree with Dan.
There are extra loadings on batteries at this time of year with lights, demisters, PCM, aircon, wipers etc. and if you' have only done relatively short journeys over the festive period, the charging system may have been unable to cope.
One word of warning, don't let the battery discharge any further as once the voltage drops, the battery will shut down completely and cannot be charged without "reawakening" it with a boost.
If you are still having problems, it'll be time for a workshop electrical check.
Regards,

Clive

Thanks Clive and Dan, I have booked the car into an OPC next week, they are going to investigate if it is the battery or something else.
I will inform when I have more info.
Regards,

Dave

Latest update,
OPC checked the battery and said it needs replacing. They have ordered one from Germany and it will be fitted in about two weeks.
Not covered by the Porsche Warranty.

Hopefully this will sort the problem.
I will keep you all posted.
Regards,

Dave

Search on a popular internet auction site for a Mini AC/DC Clamp Meter 10mA-200A. Other brands are available!!
Important to get one that will measure low values of DC current.

Latest news, I had the battery replaced by the OPC at great cost. All warnings have stopped. I had kept the battery up to full charge using a lithium trickle charger before taking it to be replaced. Mainly as I did not want a dead car.
Speaking to other Porsche engineers, popular opinion says Porsche has stopped providing their cars with Lithium batteries and gone back to lead acid because of the problems their customers were having with the Lithium batteries. Porsche were making the batteries themselves at the time. That has now stopped. I wonder why?
Hopefully no one else has this expensive experience.

As to what caused the alarm to appear, no information yet, nothing on the car was causing the current drain except perhaps the faulty circuit board that comes with the battery.
Regards,
Dave
