LHS dipped beam not working

Hi

i have 2 warning messages:
Check left dipped beam
Headlight beam adjust faulty

I have replaced the bulb (xenon) with a new bulb bulb, but still have the messages and no LHS dipped beam. Lights do not go up and down for levelling when switched on.

Are the headlights fused, in particular the LHS dipped beam?

i have checked the fuse diagram of the fuse box in the driver’s footwell near the accelerator pedal, but there are no headlight fuses listed.

I’m going through the same process now with my CayenneS.

Check your headlight for water ingress. That’s the most likely culprit. Then check under your passenger footwell carpet. If it’s wet, then you’ll have a blocked drainage channel. If it’s dry but the light housing has condensation then water is getting into the light housing (very common)

Then take the light housing out (takes 30 seconds with the tool provided) and check the ballast (silver thin box screwed onto the back of the light fitting) unscrew it and see if it’s wet (mine had water pouring out of it)
You’ll need to get a replacement if it is.

If the passenger’s side footwell is dry under the carpet and the ballast is dry but the light housing has condensation in it. Try siliconing under and on top of the rubber gasket sealing the light.

If you still get condensation, tape it up with clear waterproof tape (that’s what I went for as the silicone didn’t work).

I had to replace my ballast, clear the drainage channels and tape the light housing. A new bulb fitted and worked!

Many thanks for the suggestions, will check everything you have suggested, although the light unit which I removed to fit the new bulb was bone dry.

Sorry I thought I had posted the outcome, but obviously not. The problem was I had bent 3 of the connectors on the headlight when refitting it, but did not realise until much later that the headlight was not working. I carefully straightened the connectors and everything worked as it should with no warning messages.

Oh great the simplest of solutions.
I replaced my ballast and waterproofed the light. Worked for 2 days, hit a bump while off-roading, now won’t work again 🤷🏻‍♂️
