These guys http://www.classiccarservices.co.uk/ can give a facelift to an interior that i think looks great,they did my 90 turbo with Linen sports seats,basically refinishing the leather on the front seats with a colour finish made to sample and repaired the bolster replaceing leather,their fees are something like this....- re-dye to front seats £180 plus VAT and around £150 plus VAT to replace leather on a bolster,i reckon its a much more sensible route to a facelift,the interior on my 90 turbo looks better than it ever has.Small family company nice to deal with,they can get original leathers and alot of the original cloth materials too apparently.Great blokes,i will hopefully bring my car to frontrunners if anyone wants a look at the standard of work.

The American ready made covers are notoriously poor and Im surprised that a half decent trimmer would suggest fitting them. I know a trimmer in the Midlands who has turned out factory (better actually, with leather seat backs too, not vinyl) quality work for the last 15+ years. Im struggling to find his number unfortunately, but his name is Vaughn and from memory, a couple of other people here have come across him.

I dont know vaughn's number but he was on sky tv on campervan crisis and did a very good job re-trimming the seats.

Just reading this thread with interest about a year ago i got my seats re trimmed on a Scirocco Storm by a local husband and wife team based in stevenage as they do all work for the local Aston Martin and some from Newport Pagnell ,, had a lovely DB9 in there when i was there , anyway found they was very good and had my seats perfect and spot on as they should be and all bolster replaced etc even fixed the tilt cables for the seats and for both front seats was 500 and was leather on back of seat to . They went by name of Leather Renovators and i only have there mob number now and its 07837561012 ,, they also repair head linning etc im sure if anyone is local and need seats restoring or re trimmed its worth giving them a call

Quite correct. But the advantage of leather is that if the seat is worn and dirty, leather can be renovated with leather conditioner and hide food in a way that vinyl can't.
Having looked closely at photos of the seats I am hoping to buy, they seem to have non-cloth inserts and the wear looks very much like it's leather - it has worn, rather than cracked, which is what vinyl tends to do. And the difference in grain between the leather front and vinyl back is fairly clear.

Mine are leather facings, plastic backs and rear seats. All differing shades of blue now.....
