Leather Seat Damage From Seatbelt Buckle

Has anyone else suffered damage to the edge of their leather seats from the seatbelt buckle when closing the door? I have discovered several nicks on the side bolster of the seat, (see picture).

I am fairly tall and have the seat fully back, which means when the seatbelt is fully retracted the buckle is in close proximity to the seat side bolster and sometimes this gets jammed against the seat when closing the door.

Since I noticed the first nick, I thought I was being careful to check the position of the buckle before closing the door, but obviously not careful enough. as several more have appeared!

Anybody have any ideas to stop this happening or someway of protecting the seat?

I have bought a leather repair kit in the hope of sorting out the damage.

Slide the black plastic belt stop further up the belt. The buckle will then sit higher up the belt when retracted.

Hi,
You can slide the buckle all th way up to where the seat belt comes through the trim. When it's there flip the buckle upwards and it will stay there. I do this for the passenger one when no one else is in the car and it stops it rattling against the seat.
Hope that makes sense/helps, can send a picture if not.
