Anyone interested in making up numbers, we are planning to have a "club" so that we can camp in Karting Norde with the PDK Club and a few German friends of Mike Moores in the 964 Anniversary club.
We book through first tickets who are affiliated to the ACO, who can offer various packages or we can go it alone for ferries etc.
We probably have 4 or 5 numbers now, last year we got a return ferry for £29, we try to keep costs down, looking to be down there for Friday return Monday but again all optional.
The classic is the "one" in my opinion due to the more relaxed atmosphere and less crowding and you could spend the weekend just walking around the campsites looking at some quality classics.
Would be great to get a 944 convoy all the way down.
Drop me a pm and i will give more details.
All we need to do now is register an interest with first tickets with no obligation, but contact me and i will give details of the "club" you will be with, basically they are looking at 10 or more for our "club"
Karting Norde is "club" camping.
If beer/wine, BBQ, Sun, and Cars especially Porsche is your thing shout up.
One of the things to do before you die [:D]

Wonder will there be a PCGB Official trip to the Classic in 2012. If so then it needs confirmation and notice now at an early stage or we will end up going in dribs and drabs.

Worth doing , I fully agree.

There wasn't an official club presence last year, I doubt there will be this year. This is a shame considering the amount of classic Porsche's that take part, perhaps its just an issue of having enough interested parties...

I went last year and have to say it is the best classic car event I've ever been too, if you like Classic Silverstone this is similar but bigger and has that something special, the night racing makes it very atmospheric. Memories of flame spitting 917's at Arnage corner through the night are not forgotten easily.

I am going this year, although was thinking of going through Travel Destinations who have there own campsite at Hunaudieres, but would consider going elsewhere if in a better position.

It has been on my 'to do' list for a while now and only last week I made the statement to my wife that i WILL be doing next year. Keep me posted of plans as I'd like try and commit to this.

I would like to join your club please[:D] I will confirm shortly how many tickets/cars if you need to know.

I'm discussing this with a few friends - sure we won't make any decisions until much later though

For anyone who hasn't been - it's a fantastic weekend. Much quieter than the 24h, very easy to find places to watch, particularly late at night or early morning. You also get a chance to get into the paddock on practice day, and up close to millions of pounds worth of wonderful cars

We camped at Maison Blanche - really close to the grandstands on the main straight / ford curves. What really surprised me was the showers were warm & quite pleasant! :)

I'm another who's been thinking of doing the classic next year. I've been talking to Stephen Fowell / Lycian Events hoping they would do something like the "Village on the curves" at the 24 hour this year, but have not yet heard back from Stephen. The embarrasment would be that we'd have to use the MB estate as I doubt we could fit the camping gear into the 968 cab!

Anyone interested in our club camping can register interest on first tickets online, i will try and sort a link out so do nothing yet if interested in our little group, if we have numbers we will have to find out what most people want with regards to dates our plan was to be there for Friday so that would be UK travel Thursday, at LM for Friday with a view to going into LM town itself after the tents have been pitched.
We met up with Devine (Ben) and his posse last year at Silverstone services, Ben could fill you in on the tales on rest of the journey. one of note was arriving mid evening in Bolougne and trying to find our hotel in convoy (blind leading the blind) turning up one way streets etc
The drunken spanish bar man at the bar down the road giving us beer.
The journey for me is as good as the event.
Fond Memories !

I shall be coming in my 'biker-leather'disguise, and travelling under the pseudonym of Jezebel.

I'll look forward to the discussion. [;)]

If interested then register interest using the link and PM me so we can guage numbers.
Cheers Frenchmeister.

Can some one bring a turbo cause my mrs will need to dry her hair and there will be no room in the car ( full of beer) for a hair drier.

You think one of those will get as far as the South of France without packing up?

Bring a good supply of 1EUR coins and tell her to use the hairdriers on the campsite.

Oli.
