Later trim colours.

Guys
Quick question. I didn't think that the oval dash cars ever had brown interiors-then I spotted a cassette box for later cars in brown on eBay ! So, did they actually offer brown as an option?
I ask because I want to upgrade the interior door handles to oval dash type in my Wife's 924 which has a brown interior. I was going to make do with black, but if I could get brown.......[;)]
Thanks.

There definitely was a brown option for oval dash cars. I'm pleased to say I had the chance to see not too many of them!

Shortage of material. Most of it was earmarked for Allegro production.

Ahem....

My Allegro was my first car. It was a whole lot better than the old Fords my mates owned, it NEVER broke down, and the velour trim didn't chafe. What more do you want when you're seventeen? [8|]

Funnily enough....

Not driving a Capri, with it's rear-end jacked up to make it look like a Mustang, actually helped. I was polite to the girls mothers, and drove a sensible car. It got me a lot of, well, let's not go there. Let's just say the parents encouraged their daughters to go for the sensible bloke. With the Quartic steering wheel..... [8|]

Sadly, the 46-year-old bloke with the mid-life-crisis Porsche 944 hasn't had the same luck yet. [&o]

Ive only ever seen one brown oval RHD car, and Ive been looking at them for twenty years! It was a far more popular colour in LHD markets and Ive seen three or four of these, which shows how rare a colour it was on UK cars, because how many LHD cars do you see?

The chafing never specified that there was another individual involved... [:D]
