Lanchester to Headlam Hall Run - Sunday May 6th

Thanks guys for kind words.

Cracking drive, and couldn't have asked for better weather. Lanchester Garden Centre made us very welcome and their staff came out and took loads of photos of the cars.

Had a superb play with a about five motorbikes on the moors rd heading down towards Eggleston. It felt like being on a race track, they don't like being past :). Quick in a straight line, sh*te in corners :). Headlam Hall is truly a superb beautiful venue, cracking food and coffee. Enjoyed the route that much we drove back the same way. Unfortunately a little slower on the way back as there was a convoy of around six cars in front of us out for the Sunday drive doing around 35mph :(.

I feel your pain Trevor, just had to replace my front offside wheel. Bent on the first run out by one of our glorious potholes. Luckily the tyre wasn't damaged so only the wheel to fork out for, £350 refurbed one from 9Apart. Hey ho, the joys of driving.

Sorry we missed it Mark as the weather looked superb. Car currently on 3 wheels anyway as I managed to kerb one of the alloys so wheel is at Steve Abrol's getting repaired [:)]. Did the route a second time but I had the rev limiter with me so not as much fun!!

Was a great day, shame you missed it Trevor, I’ve missed loads last year due to been on crutches but I’m back enjoying the jaunts out now!

Its funny you should mention Steve, he’s a good friend of mine, just received my Evo VIII back from his on Friday afternoon & all four alloys look straight off the production line, third set he’s done for me now & does all Benfield/Lookers work, fair prices as well, top guy & would always recommend! 👍🏽

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday's run out.... roll on the next one. Hope the weather can be even half as kind again!

We went on to the Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk where we had a really good lunch and sit out in the sun with two beautiful E Types (and our cars!) as a back drop. Had a great drive back over the moors too. Stunning scenery, was like being abroad!

Thanks for organising a great day!

Richard

Hello Mark et al,

So frustrating when the weather was so nice but we were travelling back from Corfu so couldnt make it. Used Steve Abrol a few times thanks to speccing wheels that actively seek out kerbs (previous Macan with 21 inch [not guilty on that one] current 718 with 20 inch [my fault but distracted😢] & Octavia VRS with 18 inch diamond cut wheels [caused by a stupid van blocking the exit from a car park] - suppose its partly my own fault but design of wheel means the rim sits proud of the tyres. I‘m actually a very careful driver & would NEVER consider riding a kerb which makes it all the more ironic.

Lets hope weather for fish & chip run is as good😁

Sounds like you had a great day - regarding the damaged wheel could you not claim against the Local Authority - if you take photos & measurements of the offending pothole you may have a claim against them - so frustrating.
